Joe Gatto is one of the most loved television personalities known for his comedic group and show, "Impractical Jokers." In other words, Joe has dedicated his career to the show since its beginning in 2011. Impractical Jokers was first aired on TrueTV on December 15, 2021.

Joe Gatto, James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano have been best friends since their school. The comedy troupe started working together since their college, formed "The Tenderloins," and started producing comedy sketches together on internet platforms.

After some years of hiatus, the four friends reunited to start a new show, Impractical Jokers. The show was a massive hit back in the days and still is; the comedy troupe's events are sold out almost every time. However, Joe Gatto has decided to leave "Impractical Jokers."

Why is Joe Leaving Impractical Jokers?

Joe Gatto is leaving Impractical Jokers to have some time off to take care of his two children and co-parent with his ex-wife, Bessy Gatto. In fact, the news came after Gatto revealed he and Bessy have decided to "amicably" part ways after eight years into their marriage.

In an official statement, Gatto wrote,

"Hey, Everyone. Sorry in advance for the long and more serious-than-usual note below; I just wanted to let you all know that I will no longer be involved with Impractical Jokers."

Joe added,

"Alongside my friends, I've devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn't be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, I have to step away due to some issues in my personal life. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two incredible kids."

Why Did Joe and Bessy Split?

Joe Gatto and his wife Bessy Gatto were married in 2013; however, the former couple was together for longer. Some reports suggest, Joe and Bessy were in a relationship since 2009 and moved in together in 2010.

Joe Gatto's Final Message as an Impractical Jokers

Joe wrote,

"Outside of my family, my relationships with Murr, Q and Sal have been the most important in my life. I know they will continue to make the world laugh. And even though the four of us are the ones who you all see, this show is only possible due to the hard work of the talented crew members who work behind the scenes. I am very thankful to have worked with each and every one of them."

He continued,

"To all of the amazing fans, thank you for allowing me to make you laugh with Jokers. They say that laughter is the best medicine, and I hope I've been able to provide some of that over the last decade. Seeing you laugh has been my own medicine, particularly in these weird and difficult times we find ourselves."

Gatto concluded his message by saying,

"As I work through the challenges I am facing, I hope to and am excited to create new ways to entertain you. Much love, Joe."

The Show Must Go On!

Following Joe Gatto's announcement to leave Impractical Jokers, Brian Quinn released a statement on behalf of the comedy troupe, saying,

"Hi everyone, so here we are... After all these years together, we never imagined making Impractical Jokers without Joe. While we are saddened to see him go, we want to keep making people laugh, keep our relationship with Impractical Jokers fans going, and keep working with the team members that we consider family. With the support of our fans, we will get back to making a new chapter of Impractical Jokers in January. With love, Q, Sal and Murr."
